Creating A New Blog Post in WordPress

Posts Accordion PanelCreating a new post in your self-hosted WordPress blog is pretty easy.
• First you need to log into your wordpress blog admin panel
• Once inside the admin panel,  you can easily spot the “Posts” panel on the left sidebar
• If the panel is closed just, place the mouse over the “Posts” tab
• Then click the arrow appearing on the right hand corner of that tab.
• Once that panel is opened then click “Add New” to add a new post.

That opens the post editor page displaying:
• a text box where you would enter your new post’s title
• a wider text box (textarea) where you can start typing in the content of your new post.

You can also copy & paste your article content from any word processor (Word, Notepad) to this text box.
Notice all those buttons above the “textarea”.

WordPress Post Editor ToolsThey allow you t modify the style of  your post’s content. You can also find  buttons to add images in your post, add video, audio and add any media file in your post. Just hover on each button to see a tooltip with the description of that button’s function.

Full Screen Toggle ModeYou can use the penultimate button to toggle between the normal and full screen mode.  If you are make the post edits on a small screen, toggling the editor in full mode can give you an experience similar to using a typical word processor such as MS Word.

WordPress Kitchen Sink ButtonBut there are more buttons just hiding behind the “Kitchen Sink”: that’s the last button on the right of the “toggle full screen mode”.
When clicked, the kitchen sink reveals and additional row of buttons fulfilling various functions. Don’t be shy to explore each one of those buttons. That’s the key to getting familiar to your wordpress blog editor’s interface.
